Carlos Mendoza was a remarkable character whose untimely death in "Saints Row 2" stirred intense emotions in me. Witnessing his demise at the hands of my protagonist filled me with rage against the Brotherhood, a fury that I channeled into avenging his death.
Carlos wasn't just any gangster—he was the kindest and most helpful among them. He assisted the player in escaping from the Stilwater Penitentiary at the beginning of "Saints Row 2" and stood as a brother in arms in our quest to conquer Stilwater. Unfortunately, he died too suddenly and too young to witness the Saints taking control of the city.
To honor Carlos, I decided to add a marigold to the composition, symbolizing Día de los Muertos. Marigolds are believed to guide the spirits of the deceased back to the world and are used to decorate ofrendas with their bright orange and yellow hues. It's like a hidden Easter egg in "Saints Row 2" after Carlos' death, a reminder of his lasting impact and memory" :)
Rest in peace, Carlos. Your death was avenged by me in the game, and your memory will always hold a special place in my heart.
