Centuries change, artistic values remain. People vote with their wallet in an auction to win brush stroke of old master's hand. To be honest, I don't know the answer - are those works worth such money, or does the shine of antiquity and craftsmanship captivate us, dictating the demand for the artwork?
Today is the 21st century. Art has changed along with the request for it, and much of that change is due to digitalization. We perceive and feel art differently. The works of the old masters remain in close circles of collectors and philanthropists, we live today and use modern techniques that improved along with computer processors. Art has become publicly available, each of you can express yourself as an artist.
As an example, I will tell you a recent event, my friend Hi Alice :)! is an extraordinary personality who wants to underline her individuality in everything, not always, but it works. She asked me to draw her a ring of an individual design, so that later the jeweler could develop it according to the sketch. I am not familiar with jewelry, but I can draw. The result of three days hadn't convinced Alice.
While surfing the endless field of the Internet with Alice, I caught a breeze of thought. It took 15 minutes; thanks to modern photo montage you can combine different objects to create an individual artistic creation that does not require the skills of an old master. Everyone today is and remains an artist, of course unrecognized, but an artist.
